SafeFAST Elite - Class III
SafeFAST Elite class III Microbiological Safety Cabinets belong to the latest generation of laminar airflow systems manufactured by Faster, and the selection of the highest quality construction materials guarantees compliance with the most stringent safety standards.
Class III cabinets are completely enclosed safety cabinets, often incorrectly called glove boxes, which are widely used in laboratories to handle all types of pathogenic agents, classified from class I to class IV according to the World Health Organization.
SafeFAST Elite class III provide complete operator protection as they are suitable for working with pathogens of the most hazardous group 4. Furthermore, when correctly installed in a suitable BL3 or BL4 laboratory, they are designed to provide maximum protection to laboratory personnel, the public and the environment, as all hazardous substances are contained in a completely enclosed, ventilated cabinet.
Both the transfer warehouse and the workroom volumes operate at negative pressure to the surrounding environment, with the exhaust air ventilated through a double H 14 HEPA/ULPA filter system. The work chamber is washed with Class ISO 3 laminar flow, preventing product cross-contamination.
SafeFAST Elite class III are glove boxes designed with a front glass equipped with gloves to isolate applications from operators. A transfer door (equipped with H 14 HEPA/ULPA filter) allows materials to enter the Class III cabinet without compromising the integrity of the sealed enclosure. Gloves fitted over the glove ports allow users to safely manipulate samples and products knowing that they are completely isolated from pathogens and infectious or toxic materials used.
Both the transfer chamber and work chamber volumes operate at negative pressure to the surrounding environment, with exhaust air vented through a dual H 14 HEPA/ULPA filter system. The work chamber is washed with Class ISO 3 laminar flow, preventing product cross-contamination.
Ergonomic Design: Angled, beveled (7°) front laminated safety glass provides optimum visibility of all objects placed in the interior work area.
True Laminar Airflow: The front screen is inclined by 7° and the rear sidewall to deliver the airflow in a unidirectional manner. As a result, the front and rear panels are parallel to each other and the Laminar AirFlow has a real presence in the entire work area.
Interlocking system: The inner and outer doors of the transfer barn are synchronized thanks to the interlocking system, which only allows the outer door to be opened when the inner door is closed, in order to prevent contamination.
ECS® Eco Control System: The new ECS® microprocessor uses the latest innovative methods for the integrated management of all the basic functions of ventilation and filtration - self-regulating all the main filtration and ventilation system components - compensating for the reduced pressure drops and restoring the power balance. Combining the use of AC motorized blowers and certified low pressure drop filters, the new ECS® control system optimizes power consumption and reduces CO2 emissions to the environment.
Anti-Bacterial Coating: The exclusive Dupont™ ALESTA® anti-bacterial “Ag+ cation-based solution” prevents microbial contamination of surfaces, preventing long-term surface growth.
Quiet Operation: The TNT plenum, the structure of the electric motors of the fans fitted with anti-vibration mountings and the software itself designed to ensure optimum air handling characteristics guarantee the quiet operation of this silent safety cabinet, with sound pressure levels recorded well below the parameters specified in the valid EN:12469 European Standard for Microbiological Safety Cabinets.
High Level of Illumination: Safety glass side windows with ideal positioning and dimensioning of the lighting system provide maximum brightness to the work area.
Foot Pedal: A foot pedal is provided as standard to unlock the inner chamber door without removing your gloves.
Automatic safety service connections for gas and vacuum and one (for size 312) or two (for sizes 315 and 318) electrical outlet/sockets are standard on each size model.
Glove Ports: 300 mm glove ports with standard 0.4 mm neoprene sleeves and gloves. Special gloves are available on request. Unique abrasion resistant fabric sleeves attached to PVC flanges by means of strong elastic bands.
Flanges are rounded to 300 mm diameter to allow extra movement within the work chamber to reach every point of the inner work chamber for effective daily cleaning procedures.
Transfer cover made of epoxy coated steel, equipped with double row H14 HEPA/ULPA and classified as type C2 according to ISO-FDIS 14644-7.
Stainless Steel AISI 316L transfer cover work surface with sliding tray for transporting samples and components within the work chamber
Outer structure made of cold rolled steel with epoxy powder coating for excellent corrosion resistance against attack by aggressive common chemicals. Alternatively, special models with outer structure made of AISI 304L stainless steel are available on request for superior cleanability.
Rear wall in AISI 304L stainless steel, designed to meet the requirements and pass the 'cleanability test' according to EN12469:2000.
Work surface in AISI 316L stainless steel, consisting of sections (or in one piece on request) that can be easily removed to perform routine cleaning and/or autoclave sterilization procedures; closed or perforated on request.
Separate test ports positioned on the main chamber and transfer cover to connect external devices for various tests such as air flow rate test and air cleanliness test without disturbing the integrity of the system by opening the front window.
Recirculation and exhaust fans: The units are equipped with a dual motor fan to exhaust the total volume of purified filtered air outside the laboratory through a duct system.
Filtration: H14 HEPA/ULPA filters with an efficiency better than 99.995% MPPS (EN-1822).
Operating Condition: Air cleanliness in Class ISO 3 according to ISO:EN 14644-1.
The user-friendly practical keyboard and backlit LCD constantly display all the necessary data, keeping the user informed about the operating cabin conditions, in particular:
Display of laminar air flow rate and front air barrier speed
Internal and external temperature display
Display of remaining life of HEPA/ULPA filters, UV Lamp and activated carbon filter (if fitted)
Display of total number of operating hours
Display of saturation level of HEPA/ULPA filters.
Audiovisual alarms provided for:
Out of range or incorrect laminar airflow velocity and front air barrier velocity
Incorrect position of front sash window
Clogging of HEPA/ULPA filters
End of life of UV lamp and saturation of activated carbon filter (if fitted)
Clogging of exhaust duct (if fitted)
Fan motor failure
Power failure
Lighting: Fluorescent tubes in built-in housing positioned outside contaminated area
D.O.P.-DEHS inlet port for testing HEPA/ULPA filters
Magnetic and removable UV sterilization lamp (optional) that can be easily positioned in any area of the rear wall. Complete with two switch-off countdown timers, one variable on a scale of 0-3 hours (1 minute steps) and the other set to 3 fixed hours.
Exhaust rigid duct connection: SafeFAST Elite class III is supplied with a 200 mm diameter collar on top of the unit for direct connection to the exhaust system due to its inherent properties to address the most dangerous group 4 pathogens. SafeFAST Elite Class III is rigidly pressure tested.
